WINE TOURISM IN THE REGION OF MURCIA

The viticultural tradition of the Region of Murcia is well-known, and based on it, following the trend of offering visitors an enriching experience in every sense, there are three wine routes in Murcia focused on Bullas, Jumilla, and Yecla, respectively. This makes the Region of Murcia the true kingdom of Monastrell.

The Bullas Wine Route offers more than 200 traditional wineries and has resources of various kinds In fact, there is no predetermined route, and everyone can enjoy the visit at their own pace and according to their preferences.

In the territory covered by the Bullas Wine Route, in addition to wineries and vineyards, you can find natural resources such as the Salto del Usero, cultural resources like the Torre del Reloj, and a date with traditional products at El Zacatín, a market where a wide range of local products can be found. It takes place on the first Sunday of each month, and parallel to the traditional product showcase, activities related to them are also held.

Certified tourism companies and entities are a necessary complement within the Bullas Wine Route: accommodations, restaurants, wine bars, and everything a visitor needs to comfortably enjoy this corner of Murcia.

It is also worth noting that from Murcia and Cartagena, there is a Wine Bus that comfortably covers the routes of Bullas for the participants.

A bus with similar characteristics covers the route through the wine regions of Jumilla and Yecla.

In Yecla, one of the features of the route is that it combines the greater knowledge and enjoyment of wine with another equally high-quality and highly appreciated product, namely, olive oil. Thus, in addition to visiting one (or several) of the four wineries included in the route, it is also possible to visit an olive oil mill, and in one day, you can do wine and olive oil tastings.

The Yecla Wine Route strives to offer experiences to its visitors, such as guided tours, picnics, among the accredited establishments. In addition to wineries and oil mills, you will find hotels, restaurants, bars, gift shops, museums, cultural associations, and bullfighting farms.

In summary, the Yecla Wine Route offers the opportunity to explore a territory rich in history and traditions and excellent in terms of its relationship with wine.

Yecla and Bullas make an effort to offer visitors the most varied experiences related to wine.
